I’m a STAR – Spouse Traveling and Relocating Successfully –
I’m currently in the middle of a big life (recent empty-nester) and location transition (moving to Switzerland from the United States), and decided to write daily blog posts and give you a peek into the life of a S.T.A.R. – Spouse Traveling and Relocating Successfully.
I like to think that I’ve become a successful S.T.A.R.
After all, I have been enjoying the expat life for a long time now, and being an expatriate is a big part of my identity.
When I found out that my husband’s job could take us back to Switzerland for one more time, I knew I had the opportunity of a lifetime.
And, it’s an exciting opportunity!
So, I envisioned a plan. To live between the United States (my kids live there now) and Switzerland, follow my husband on as many business trips as possible, while continuing working as a life coach and writing about my adventures and learnings here on ExpatJoy.
And the icing on the cake would be to write a book about my experiences.
Surprisedly, embracing this big dream idea wasn’t as easy as one might expect.
You see, I had fear. I still do!
I worried if I was doing the right thing.
At the end of the day, my life in the United States was going well, and I had already adjusted to the American way of life.
We all have those moments when we look around and realize that life can be dreamlike, and that can be scary.
Many times, it feels easier to stay put than to choose what we longed for instead.
Learning what we want, put our fears to the side and go for what it is we wish for sound easier on words than done, right?
So, my daily blog posts will be a mixture of the ups and downs to be expected of an expat in transition, the same up and owns to be expected of anyone lucky enough to be alive.
This is my light-hearted way to share my world with you.
If you’ve been or you are an expat, if you enjoy world traveling and choose to see the world through positive lenses, please check back daily for a new blog post. Thank you!
Hugs & Kisses!

ps. Please don’t expect literary work here. My writing in Portuguese and English is not perfect and my major objective is communication. I happily accept your feedback.
